some people talk to animals.
not many listen, though.
that’s the problem.

a short statement that says so muchApril 20, 2012 – 4:37 am
Thank you so much for praying for Addie.
She lost her short battle with leukemia last Monday morning,
two days before she would have turned ten.
. . .
I think God celebrated Addie’s birthday on Wednesday
with a pink sunrise over the plains.

While her fourth grade friends celebrated it
with an early morning balloon launch in her front yard.

And if you have a few moments, I encourage you to read this newspaper
article that celebrates her beautiful life:
The Short, Busy Life of Addison Hestermann
Your heart will be fuller, and your day sweeter, for the time you spend
getting to know Addie.

. . .
for some moments in life,
there are no words.

I have been very moved by Addie’s story and I think she will stay with me for a very long time. In fact, I have put her birthday on my calendar and will be making a contribution to the Capital Humane Society in her memory at that time.April 13, 2012 – 9:53 pm
Although I never got to meet Addie, I feel like I know her somehow. She is a beautiful girl who touched many lives in such a short time. May she always be remembered.
